Thank you so much for your feedback. We agree that consistent feedback is critical to supporting our employees in their career at SocialChorus and beyond. We have implemented a formal review and feedback process so every employee knows their strengths and where they can improve. In addition to just providing feedback, we are very interested in the professional development of every employee. Every employee has an allotted amount of money every year to spend how she/he wants to pursue specific professional development. This, of course, is on top of the training and coaching we offer from industry experts like Decker and Stoa Partners. We are deeply committed to partnership and collaboration – not only with our customers (our longest standing customer has been with us for 8 years!) – but within our teams. We invest in team collaboration starting with our leadership team, then cross-functionally, then within each team, and company-wide. Pros

Good work life balance, with unlimited PTO for US based employees. The product is used, and relied on by some big companies, so there is a real impact to the work.

Kontras

After a string of disappointing C suite leaders, and several waves of turnover, both voluntary and not, the Product and Engineering organization is a mess. A culture of fear and mistrust has been building, creating a generally unpleasant place to work. Outside of the leadership issues, the teams are all remote, with many spread across global timezones. This limits collaboration and encourages solo development, which has had a negative impact on product quality. Leading to a high level of quiet burnout that people do not feel safe sharing. Overall there is a feeling that Firstup has squandered these past few years. There is a growing feeling of helplessness, and my sense is, if left unaddressed, will change it from just being an unpleasant place to work to something much worse.
