Pros

They don't micromanage because they don't manage at all.

Kontras

I was hired here through a recruiting company for this over the phone data verification position. We were to call businesses and schools that people had listed on their resumes to verify they worked those jobs when they said they did and went to those schools and graduated when they listed they did. I started the 2 week training class and for the first week it was just me and my trainer who happened to be one of my coworkers. The next week another new person joined us which was difficult because the trainer was still teaching me while teaching her things I had already learned the first week. It was an unorganized mess but I made the best of it. My trainer was an extremely straightedge guy and it was very intimidating because he was all work all the time. I would tell jokes and try to get him to loosen up but he didn’t budge. I do not like when people do not have a personality and can only talk about work. Most people work to live not the other way around. This was very frustrating but I powered through it. His training style was very strict but very effective. He would ask questions as he taught trained to make sure you were paying attention and it did help me learn faster. We did have another trainer for one of the days and she was very outgoing and energetic as much as she was a great trainer. I told her she was a much better trainer and hoped she could train the rest of the class but unfortunately the original trainer came back. She instructed me and my other trainee that she was the one who trained our trainer. My trainer told me that we were to tell people over the phone that we were verifying this information for any number of reasons like for a job or so they could buy a house. Most people would ask and say it was for a job which I later found out by my trainer that we were only verifying because the candidate was applying for a job. This was upsetting for me because I felt manipulated and deceived since we couldn’t tell them that. They willingly told me not to disclose this to people and I do not like when business lie to and deceive people. I was trained well but on the job but it was time consuming and they wanted everyone to make at least 85 calls a day. The boss and trainer kept telling me how easy this was. I completed my training and was sent off on my own to swim with the sharks. I did ask my coworkers and boss for help when I got stuck but could not make the minimum 85 calls per day. They would have a list of place to call in the database but would not update it frequently when the lists were completed every few hours. When this happened everyone would be sitting there with nothing to do until they added more businesses and schools to the list. This was one of the reasons I could not make my call volume. The only way I could think of that people made their call limits was that they were falsifying records and calls. They gave me about 6 weeks to get up to that 85 call level but I could never get more than 50. My boss asked me if I’d like more training and I reluctantly agreed. I went back into training for the next week where I had the same trainer as he was teaching someone else. He had me do my work in the back of the room while he trained her. It was pointless and futile. This second round of training did not help me whatsoever. I told my trainer and boss that I would like to shadow someone for a day to see how they made the high call volume. They gave me the runaround every time I asked and would never let me do that even though I told them it would greatly help me. The office was under a renovation and there was a crew disassembling desks in the building that week and my department was to move to a different part of the building the following Tuesday and we were instructed to take our personal belongings home on Monday so they could move our desks. The next week Monday I came to work and my keycard to the building would not work. The receptionist came out and told me to call my agency. I asked if I was fired and she just told me to call my agency and took my keycard. I asked to come in and get my stuff and she said I was not allowed into the building and they would mail my stuff to me. I asked if I can just come in and get it real quick and she refused. I wanted to push her out of the way and come in to get my things but I didn’t. I called my recruiter and he told me I was let go due to performance. I asked why they would attempt to retrain me only to let me go without allowing me to try again. It didn’t make any sense. I asked why the boss couldn’t let me go face to face herself instead of locking me out of the building. SHE IS A COWARD FOR DOING THAT. I gave the recruiter my address to mail my things. He instructed me that they’d send them to him and he’d mail them to me. I waited 2 weeks and still never received my things. I had about $50 worth of personal belongings including a cell phone charger and water bottle. I notified my recruiter who told me my former boss told him they didn’t find any of my belongings. I told him that was unacceptable and told him to have her look again and have her check with the company that moved the desks. I spoke with him a couple days later and he said they couldn’t find anything. I also emailed my former boss asking her to please mail my things back or reimburse me but never got a response. She completely GHOSTED me which was extremely immature and childish. I told the recruiter I knew they would screw me like that and he told me to take the loss. He said that’s what he would do. I told him to bill the company and reimburse me but he said he couldn't do that. I said I should have forced my way in and took my stuff back when I came in and gave them my keycard. DO NOT WORK HERE THEY WILL FIRE YOU WITHOUT WARNING AND STEAL YOUR THINGS.
