Nepotism! Do as we say not as we do. Family members, paid more for the same job with early days off and time off whenever desired. Hostile work environment. Lack of Integrity (Drivers instructed to lie to customers vs taking responsibility for mistakes made). $168 daily rate No Overtime No Holiday Pay No Benefits Raises are rare and minimal. Late pickups without compensation. Drivers are actually considered Vendors and not Employees. Inconsistent and often late dispatch times (Fault of Terminal not Contractors). Blackout Calendar Dates (Thanksgiving - Jan 1st) no time off will be approved. No “Runners” (additional person to help with deliveries) during peak season or overly loaded route days despite other contractors being able to figure this out. Drivers expected to work additional routes or assist other drivers with their deliveries on top of their own route day without compensation. No room for growth or advancement. Micro Manages. Management often requests that you change vacation days and provides negative feedback when you don’t make last minute changes. Illegal payroll practices. Employer claims to pay $21+ per hour. However, this is paid out at minimum wage and an “other” amount is paid to bring it up to $168 per day as shown on paystubs. Overtime is not paid even though hours worked are well over 40 each week. 5-6 days a week at approximately 10 hours a day. There have also been times when drivers were made to work more than 30 days in a row without a day off and without appropriate compensation. Additional hits for integrity: Drivers instructed to lie on end of day vehicle inspections for critical mechanical issues that would red line a truck. Drivers have also been instructed to falsify DOT records by using a different log in or log out before you have returned so that it looks like they were not in violation of DOT restrictions for hours. It is done this way due to being automatically recorded electronically. Drivers told they would be getting raises only to find out the minimum wage section of the paystub was raised to reflect the new state minimum, however overall pay stayed at the same daily rate. Management have given false negative reviews for employees that have applied for other jobs causing them to be turned down in attempt to retain employees at their company. Multiple potential employers have declined to hire based on false negative reviews. When confronted drivers have been lied to and told that wasn’t true and that they were given exemplary recommendations. Half hour deductions for “lunch breaks” even when you don’t get them. Management considers everyone expendable. Mandatory and useless meetings on personal time that should be emails. Taking time off is frowned upon regardless of the reason. This employer expects its employees to put their job over every other aspect of their lives without question.
