- When they bid on work that they've never built before, they have a flawed (or no internal process) for validating that cost. They then expect you to build it for that cost and end up likely getting burnt. When you warn them ahead of time that the cost for that major Architectural component isn't accurate, they show you the door because you screwed with their non-proven system and estimating structure of bidding on new types of work they are unfamiliar with. You're damned if you do warn them ahead of time, and damned when the costs overruns balloon.
