Management is oblivious to incredibly low morale. In my last few months at the company I was surrounded by colleagues trying to “get out” in order to reclaim their professional integrity, respect, and personal lives. General negativity and ill treatment of employees starts at the very top with the CEO and trickles down to upper management who instead of growing and inspiring teams, berates direct reports using them as vehicles for blowing off steam. Management’s failure to empower employees to do their jobs is counter-productive and cripples career advancement. Management’s chokehold on client relationships and communications is damaging to the business and sets the account teams up for failure. Impulsive process change and management’s failure to learn from losing situations (loss of employees, loss of business, loss of sound reputation) repeatedly stunts the growth of individual, team, and client successes.
