Read the writing on the wall. You’re on a sinking ship that has taken to shortcuts at the cost of their long term reputation and client retention. Management will be the end of this company. Dwayne has made a series of bad decisions ranging from multiple rounds of layoffs, questionable business practices, actively having relations with a subordinate, and failing to acknowledge that Ezoic’s core product has now earned a participation trophy in the landscape of solutions. The new business strategy is to hope one of these other poor product offerings turns into a SAAS business before the cash dries up. The people who kiss Dwayne's you know what and herald Ezoic as the best have made it to management positions within the company. While not surprising, it has created a fear-based culture that has become unreceptive to feedback. Management is so terrified of any sort of pushback from Dwayne they will echo his out of touch sentiment to their subordinates to earn his approval. It’s easier to do that, when you have never worked at another company before. When performance slumps, management doubles down on micromanagement and gaslighting their people as lazy even though they take twice as much PTO then individual contributors. It's because they possess no business acumen on how to analyze results, identify where sales are being lost, and develop a strategy to produce better outcomes. They spend almost every meeting focused on influencing perception about the product, company outlook, and compensation. There would be no need to focus on perception, if the truth said otherwise. If there was one word to describe management at Ezoic it would be ignorance. If they are in business a year from now, I will be sincerely surprised. Get out while you can.
