I was with Extract Labs for about 2 years and I loved the creative web team I was on, the projects we worked on were great, the vendors we worked with were top notch, and the manager in charge of the department was absolutely fantastic. We were allowed the freedom to work on what we thought was important and to really give input into the final product. The days actually started at 9-5 m-f, which never happens. With that said, there was always lots of cool work to do, never a dull moment. The facility is nice and in the heart of Lafayette. With all the different departments and entities this seasoned startup has going, there are lots of opportunities for cool projects and career paths. I had a fun time working for these guys and would recommend working for them to others. Siloed communication from leadership Volatility of the industry No employee buy-in into the company - however they do have a 401k with a 4% match. Inflexible schedules - you will be expected to show up and leave at a certain time. No remote or hybrid remote options

Employees crave independence, and when that independence is denied, things turn negative, and the work culture is ruined.

The behavior of those at the top is horrible. These terribly arrogant people spend a lot of time trying to control employees instead of supporting them. They monitor employees' computer devices, showing a total lack of respect for their privacy. It's horrible. Employees feel underpaid, too, as these arrogant higher-ups make excuses to dock employees' pay for no reason. They never justify their actions but want you to keep quiet and follow along. If you dare to raise your voice or even share some genuine feedback, these awful people will turn into your enemies and kick you out. If you can work like a puppet whose strings are controlled by someone else, you can work here. Otherwise, please don't bother.
