Pros
Can be a live on manager at a facility that has an apartment available (or made available as some District Managers will promise a place to someone, and fire people to open that spot for them)
Kontras
Depending on what district manager you report to will probably decide how your job goes here. I was a live on manager. I had a seizure for the first time in my life at this apartment(lasted 9 minutes, had some brain damage). We found black mold on the property, in the vents, the ceiling tiles were covered with it, even some of the units that people stored their items in, had mold inside (that ruined their items). Had a quote to clean the mold. Didn't get approved because they wanted other work to be done first. The vendors that Extra Space had for the other work, would never answer or respond. So it was never done. 4 months after my seizure, I was fired. Because I couldn't drive, and my assistant manager had forgotten the deposit in the back, and it was forgotten until I was asked where it was. (My wife had also worked for Extra Space, as a DTL. She had been moved every year , being promised promotions(which she received until this last move). After our district manager started fast tracking other people and telling my wife she wouldn't be getting a promotion for quite a while, she left. Another reason I believe I was targeted to be removed/fired).
