Decent pay, benefits, steady job

ESU is ridiculous, hard to do when there's work to be done. The SIZZLE customer service is ridiculous. Good customer service is important, but they take it to the point where it's not genuine, but a script. If you need that much to make a sale, then your product isn't that great. You HAVE to talk about how great the company is, how awesome you are, how awesome the site is, etc etc etc. Then to top it off, when a customer doesnt want to make the committment, you have to call them back 5-7 different times as "follow ups" What makes this worse, is some of these people are secret shoppers and have no intention of buying. Calls are also recorded then reviewed and shared among your peers in the district. They also grade you on your performance. The SIZZLE stuff is really unnecessary, the product speaks for itself and if your customer service is top notch (without excessive script reading) you can make the sale! The ESS product is by far top notch, but you don't need to over indulge in it to make the sale. One more thing, I sure don't like to be called 5+ times by someone trying to get my business or a sale if I'm not that interested at all, so I sure don't like having to call them so many times to get their business.

Pros

Solid schedule - 40 hours per week, not expected to be there more than that. No one looking over your shoulder constantly (unless you have a new DM, they can't seem to help it) Mostly great people to work with Local, immediate management does care and are helpful.

Kontras

Very large rate increases really upset customers and that's just too bad. We are given word to tell them but it just isn't true. Putting more money in stock holder's pockets is the bottom line and it doesn't matter how much anger we have to deal with. You are absolutely expected to sell insurance to every renter. However, you must be careful because you aren't "insurance salesmen". You get a ding when you don't sell it. We are encouraged to use evasive language and rush through it so the renter thinks it's required without quite saying so. You would think this large of a corporation would have handymen available but it is so, so difficult to get the smallest repair done due to getting bids from vendors, turning them in, reminding the person you turned them in to what needs done maybe getting approval, then scheduling. By that time lights (or whatever) have been out for a month or 2. Benefits are very expensive and cover so little.
