Leadership lacks fundamental understanding of the technology side of the business. There's a disparity of understanding between the folks calling the shots and the folks doing actual technical work, upper leadership making promises that they can't keep and making it a problem for people under their org. No work life balance for anyone in the SRE role as they are stretched thin on a weekly basis. Management thinking it's acceptable to drop piles of work on people last minute on a Friday.

There are a lot. First, office politics. Equifax expects employees to be very corporate and robotic. Metrics metrics metrics. 100% focused on revenue, not customers. Metrics, metrics, metrics. PIP overuse. Even when you’re 150% to yearly plan 6mo in, they expect 300%. Make sure to keep receipts. Senior management will find the most ridiculous ways to push reps out, continently right before a huge payout of a very delayed commission plan. (Sell something in Jan 2025, you will only get a fraction of commission until June 26). That’s if the exception committee approves payout (which never happens). If you sell a big deal, don’t expect to get paid 100% of what the plan says.
