Pros

Colleagues are great. You become very close to the people in your same role and on the same team. As your work life turns to utter pain with unrealistic request, bad pay and managers that are just mean you must huddle together to try and stay alive in the war that is a single day of Hotel Engine life.

Kontras

Horrible pay, Managers that are unqualified for their job (so the blame then falls to you as they pass things off as your fault). Managers overpromise to the CEO and when they fail their unrealistic plan, they just fire another rep who's been working tirelessly for no thanks. Unrealistic expectations and no communication at all! Literally the only people who should apply for this company are white women that have gotten ahead on their ability to brown nose. They prefer a person who will "kiss the ring" over someone who is actually selling and getting results. No minorities at this company and leadership that are all white women (Karen's of the workplace except they are ALL your bosses and despise you.) Upper mgmt (CEO Ellia) - Is so disconnected from what is going on its scary to see play out day after day. They give weekly "how are you doing" surveys that are not anonymous. Anyone who has ever given suggestions, or not putting "I'm 110% super happy here" are quickly discharged being told "Not HE DNA" and forgotten about instantly as they attempt to recruit drones that they can destroy any passion for sales they once had. The salary amounts are not correct for what they are posting. Unless you are in the "Girl Clique" of about 6 ladies at the company no one is making any money. They don't and will not explain how you are even paid and just are "always to busy" for you anyways if you want to find out. If you are unlucky enough to get time to discuss that you will quickly find yourself on the top of the "to be fired" list for actually caring about your money.

Pros

Competitive base salary with commission potential when goals are met. Benefits were solid overall, and the office itself was nice. Weekly catered lunches were also a nice perk, and there were some good coworkers on the team.

Despite sometimes being positioned as hybrid, the role was fully in-office. The training program (“STP”) felt more fear-based than developmental, with constant pressure and the feeling that your job could be taken away at any point if expectations were not followed exactly. Quotas initially appeared manageable but ramped up very quickly. The structure also made it difficult to recover from a bad month because performance was tied to both monthly bookings and monthly revenue, with revenue goals heavily dependent on deals closed in previous months. Falling behind once often created a snowball effect that was nearly impossible to overcome. Lead quality and distribution were another challenge, as many leads were heavily overcalled. This made prospecting increasingly difficult and reduced the effectiveness of outreach. The office culture often felt immature and overly “bro culture” driven. Expectations changed frequently and were not always clearly communicated. There was also an expectation to work beyond normal hours, especially during training, which contributed to burnout early on. Additionally, there did not seem to be a real focus on employee development or real improvement plans. If performance slipped, employees were often simply let go rather than meaningfully coached through improvement.
