Pros
Working with and advising students was a rewarding experience. Campus Life can be a dynamic environment, which some may find energetic and engaging. I was fortunate to work with some great colleagues during my time here. Ultimately, I transferred to another department with more effective leadership, which improved my overall experience.
Kontras
Working in Campus Life presented some challenges, including frequent schedule changes and communication issues that affected work/life balance. Additionally, I observed some inconsistencies in leadership and departmental coordination. The department's structure, particularly regarding Audio Visual positions being under Operations rather than IT, sometimes limited access to necessary resources and support. Compensation in this department also tends to be lower compared to other departments. I believe there are opportunities for improvement in communication, leadership development, and organizational structure to enhance the overall work environment.
