Pros
- Relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment without any of the internal politics and bureaucracy of similar sized startups.
- Work is done in a really common sense way with a lot of trust in employees to finish their projects.
- The core tech is solid, marketable, and I only saw an upward trajectory the entire time I was there - definitely bullish on the equity.
- No ML/AI/DL smoke and mirrors. The problems are well scoped and solvable, and the promises of the product really are deliverable.
This is a really consistent and scalable startup, with barely any dumpster fires for a company of its size.
Kontras
- Base pay was pretty significantly lower than other offers, even for a startup, but I also didn't negotiate at all (rookie mistake on my part).
- The bigger picture of the product is a bit uninspiring, but then again, who's actually "making the world a better place" anyways?
No real cons in terms of daily work or company trajectory.
