Pros
ECi has one of the most flexible environments I've ever worked for. There is no push back on needing personal time for things like doctors appointments or other family obligations. Hours are also flexible as long as you are getting your work done and in communication with your manager. Time off is very generous, even for new employees. Management staff is highly approachable and friendly. The communication from management with the staff has improved immensely over the last two years. Very friendly and casual atmosphere in the office. There is no real dress code, unless you are attending meetings with customers or tradeshows.
Kontras
As a private company, we have no pre-determined regular bonus or pay raise structure. Our raises are determined solely by the performance of sales. If we miss our sales goals, no raises. Many employees are frustrated by this policy and feel it's unfair. Training and mentoring must generally always be self-driven, there are no standards or policies currently in place to continually train employees. Middle-management is inconsistent - some departments have more qualified/better leaders than others. No 401k matching. HR department and onboarding procedures are pretty much non-existent. Insurance options are good, but have increased quite a bit in cost over the last few years.
