This role pays entry-level rates for work that is not entry-level. No training, no SOPs, no system — you’re expected to figure everything out as you go. Sink or swim is the motto. Office politics are very real. Favoritism is obvious, and new hires quickly learn that shining bright can trigger jealousy. The culture can feel like an “old boys club,” where new employees are expendable. HR policies for office roles are extreme, including a very intrusive background check that goes back years. Termination can happen suddenly, even if you’re performing well — it feels arbitrary.
