Pros
Direct Development is a seemingly great company. Their young staff, company happy hours, and promise of flexible hours are what attracts most college graduates. The company is run by a very ambitious team of individuals. They are extremely passionate about what they do. They offer great health insurance and 401k matching. The salary could be better given the amount of work, but most of us are fresh out of college. The team is flexible with working remotely, or from a coffee shop, which is nice when you need to get a lot of work done, and need a break from the office.
Kontras
Lack of leadership from upper management. You will be given a lot of responsibility (which is great to build your resume), but at what expense? You will 100% be micromanaged (the other reviews that say otherwise must have been written by management), criticized, and given an overwhelming amount of work, with little training. They like to throw you into the work, which is good to start doing actual work on day one, but there needs to be more training and expectations. For the most part, everyone is seemingly very nice, but prepare yourself for office gossip. It is unlike any other place I have worked at. Also, keep in mind that DD is located in Fairfax, VA, roughly an hour away from D.C.
