Pros

Unlimited PTO, until that was taken away. Good pay, until they started exploiting workers in Egypt, Latin America, and South Africa & decided the years of dedication and experience of the US design time was worthless.

Kontras

Not a dental lab, as they claim to be, Dandy is a software company looking to exploit the dental industry. gaslights employees Consistent massive layoffs of entire work force. No career advancement was allowed for us based design team. Forced to train inexperienced people overseas and help engineering build & advance AI to eventually replace our positions. Poor upper management High management turn over No organization Insufficient communication across departments and entire company. Exploitive values & practices Lied to employees about their job stability High, unrealistic expectations in the employee, but can not send out emails or follow through as they say they will

Pros

Strong focus on skills and competence; speed, complexity, and pace mean it's not for everyone but if you find your place the sky is the limit. If you're not a self-starter with elite skills, you won't do well at Dandy.

Kontras

Usual start-up chaos and planning challenges that every hypergrowth company experiences

Pros

Good pay Remote work Dedicated, hardworking peers Truly interesting projects RSU's can actually be liquidated

Kontras

Large amounts of travel at the drop of a hat Unrealistic schedules and targets Engineers fleeing the manufacturing sites because of toxic management, which the company refuses to address Forcing manufacturing operators and engineers to do more with less in order to try to save on overhead costs, with no regard to burnout or realism of what people can handle Rotating through temp/contract employees to run complex manufacturing equipment is a recipe for inefficiency Bonuses halved due to company underperforming to it's (unrealistic) goals Management doesn't seem to understand how to develop manufacturing capabilities, or not in a healthy or lasting way If the company isn't profitable by now in a high-margin market like dental, it seems doubtful to be able to be Valuation is suspect, seems like valued as a tech/app company than one that makes a physical product If you're hired, consider yourself a contract employee. The company seems to go through cycles of overhiring to meet busy periods, and then lay them off once the period is over.
