Drive will "Drive you Crazy"! - Software Developer bei DRIVE Software Solutions: Mitarbeiterbewertung

I have worked at Drive for over 10 years. I left and returned, as have many other people. The people are all helpful and committed to the future of the company. People have left thinking the grass is greener but have returned to work at Drive. There is always opportunity to make a difference quickly without the hierarchy and red tape that you often see in bigger companies.

Can't think of anything - considering I left and returned

Strange how all the positive reviews start the same, almost like they're written from a template. Anyone with a brain can tell that the positive reviews left here are clearly written by the management in an attempt to raise their public image after their mismanaged spending caused a large round of layoffs. Oops. Do not trust the positive reviews, I mean this with sincerity.

This company is stuck in the past; horribly mismanaged and under-qualified. I think I met three people who actually knew what they were doing my entire time here, and the entire company leaned on them heavily. The touted "family feel" roughly translates to "We're all lazy" The developers are useless at doing anything that isn't piloting the ancient Oracle software this company relies heavily on. There were 3 times as many developers as would ever be necessary simply because none of them actually ever worked. I'd say around 80% of the employees exist here simply to collect a paycheck, anything positive I ever heard about this company came from people who had been here since the 1990s who were completely lacking in work ethic or talent cruising on their career because nobody else in the world still has the extremely niche knowledge required to work with such dated software. Managements idea of modernizing the business 10 years too late includes entering a highly competitive market and delivering a worse product for a higher price than their competitors and throwing money at the project until they can't afford to keep the business afloat anymore. It was a joke even within the company.
