Pros

DHD has really great people and an awesome environment. The leadership cares about each and every team member and there is no shortage of community and culture. It's an ambitious and fast growing company so there are plenty of new opportunities and experiences to be had. DHD also provides a great health plan.

Kontras

Like any company experiencing rapid growth DHD Films is in the process of figuring out how to best leverage it's people and optimize processes so that the company operates at top efficiency. It has done well with this so far but at times the growing system shows flaws that we use as opportunities to make it better. Also, at this time DHD Films does not offer a retirement plan.

Pros

One of the best things about working at DHD Films is how much the leadership genuinely wants every team member to grow—not just in their role, but in their career. There's a positive outlook on performance management here; it's not about catching mistakes, it's about recognizing strengths and finding ways to elevate your work. We're encouraged to bring new ideas to the table—whether it's a new technique, strategy, piece of software, or something experimental. A great example of this is when leadership sent our team to an AI film festival in Austin, TX. It wasn’t just a fun trip—they saw it as a way to explore how AI can shape the future of storytelling and how we might integrate it into our work. That level of forward thinking is rare and appreciated. Collaboration is also a big win here. Everyone’s input matters, and creative ideas are heard and supported.

Competitive pay, fun environment, good people to work with for the most part

Poor leadership, poor decision making, fiscally irresponsible, cult-like atmosphere centered on being "all in", staggering favoritism of poorly performing employees, poor hiring and retention practices, high turnover, tendency to overwork employees, overabundance of time wasting meetings, under qualified middle management, rapidly shifting company objectives that usually conflict with one another, poorly developed vision for the future.
