No real training is provided. You, basically have to figure it out on your own. Just because you get an above average performance appraisal and take on additional responsibilities, don't expect to be rewarded in raises or promotions. Generally, promotions are based on "who you know" not "what you know or have proven that you can do". Salaries are not structured and managers are allowed to "create" whatever positions they want and decide pay based on nothing. HR department is no help in providing explanation for how raises are determined or why certain benefits only go to certain employees.
