Pros
- Great coworkers you can bond with and make lifelong friends - Your paid leave is all upfront - Generic snacks and free lunch once a week (quality varies) - Some managers are great. Most are not great. - Workload is ok if you can avoid the pressure to jump higher each year - A lot of opportunities during some slow seasons to take unpaid or extended leave - Fair allowances for maternity or paternity leave. Has accommodations for mothers in the office.
Kontras
- Low pay and they will withhold money or hold you accountable for their mistakes in financing, - Very obstinate about raising pay to be competitive with the market or the rising costs of living - Racial disparity in hiring and promotion. They allow all lives matter and thin blue line propaganda. - Management is very unempathetic towards their people. You are just numbers to them, not a person. There is a lot of catty remarks and sarcasm towards workers. - Feedback is not anonymous and they will hound you over anything that is not positive. Consistent negative feedback puts you in a blacklist. - Annual reviews for pay raises are based on favoritism and are usually 1-3% increases to an already stagnant salary. - Combined jobs and a large increase in responsibilities did not come with a pay raise. - This job will condition you to fear your managers and the company’s growth path because it will come at an expense of your own mental health.
