The problem was the team worked around the clock daily including most weekends and nights. The core functionality of the product had some major issues for years that was refused to be fixed because "It will take 'x+5' months to complete while creating new features which has a direct consequence of the core. These new features are meaningless if the foundation is having problems. Since we have worked directly with customers and heard/seen it first hand multiple times. The team is small and didn't have the vocal power to advocate for improving the foundation. Providing workarounds isn't solving the issue especially when it becomes a tedious process for the customer for the same core features on what the product was meant/marketed for. The compensation for that amount of work put in wasn't that great. Also promotion wasn't a thing.
