Pros

Pleasant working environment with computer equipment that promotes productivity, large working desk, and comfortable chairs. Flexible deadlines when appropriate. Senior staff gives advice in a friendly and helpful. Management provides learning and development resources and will consider new resources when requested. Development manager is a highly competent developer, friendly, understanding, and personable. Company is actively working towards converting flagship program's legacy code to .NET code. Free snacks and, on occasion, free lunches for all staff by upper management. Absolutely free health care, dental care, and life insurance that does not come out of your pay.

Kontras

Database design is not normalized. Have to work with legacy code at times. Paid once every month. Certain staff will be on call for 24\7 for 1 week every 6-8 weeks. Executive manager may come off as strict and stern at times, however he exhibits genuine interest and care for his staff.

Pros

100% Paid Premiums (Though Quality Has Dropped) The company still fully covers the monthly premiums for health and dental insurance. However, since the Arcadea acquisition, the coverage was downgraded from a premier BCBS plan to a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with an HSA, resulting in significantly higher out-of-pocket costs for employees.

Post-Acquisition Decline and Lack of Job Security Since being acquired by private equity firm Arcadea, the company culture and stability have gone downhill. There is zero job security, regardless of your tenure or performance. Long-term, dedicated employees are routinely let go in brief, impersonal Teams calls with no warning. Micro-management and After-Hours Demands The workload is heavy, yet management requires tedious, granular time-tracking for every task, which severely slows down productivity. Additionally, after-hours expectations are exhausting and create a poor work-life balance.
