Pros
Depending on your immediate supervisor, the culture can range from pleasant with reasonable expectations, to toxic with unreasonable enforcement of problematic policies (basically, there's a small bit of wiggle room on interpretation and approach and the right manager can make a big difference, but they're few and far between).
Kontras
Unrealistic expectations with average compensation, which they assert strongly to the contrary despite evidence otherwise. Work can be incredibly challenging with little time off. Accrued paid time off must be used toward holidays that are automatically paid in other settings. Insurance really only covers providers within the network you work for, and there can still be significant out-of-pocket costs attached. For example, I once went to the emergency room in the hospital where I worked, was only there four hours, and still walked away with a few thousand dollars in out-of-pocket charges.
