The company seems to be in the stone age, which I had heard HR claim that was kind of their secret weapon. The technology is as old as the bank has been in business. All websites are blocked, and at my branch, they I didn't even have access to Microsoft Suite products. Commerce expects "sales" and "educating customers", but I can't even keep track of my progress in a word/excel document. I had to constantly ask the other banker if she had educated this customer previously, since we had to keep track of our customer education in a notebook. Working at a very small town branch, I saw only the same people daily, thus not wanting to annoy them with asking if they needed a loan every other day. The software, computers, and other technological devices are slow and inefficient. There are plenty of career opportunities BUT internal employment procedure takes forever. I worked at a very small town branch, and we were dead most of the time. Myself and another woman were the only bankers. This was only a temporary job for me, which they knew when they hired me. I felt way more qualified to gain more responsibilities than the other banker. The other banker was always learning new tasks and my manager never explained to me as to why she was getting more responsibilities. A simple "she's here more long term and you aren't" would have been sufficient. I felt like I had a better grasp on some of the tasks I was never trained to do that the other banker was taught. There was a lot of drama in the small town branch I was at, which I was fortunate not to be involved in.
