Pros

ClickUp has been a game-changer in my life, consistently propelling my growth in positive and constructive ways. When I found myself at a crossroads in my career, I decided to explore areas that piqued my interest and aligned with my skills, particularly in leadership and problem-solving. I took the initiative to teach myself fundamental coding languages, which I believed would open doors in the tech industry. Subsequently, I enrolled in a coding bootcamp, dedicating four months to mastering languages like Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript with React and Redux, and PostgreSQL, among others. After successfully completing the bootcamp, I embarked on a job search to find the right fit for my tech career. It was during this search that I stumbled upon a Technical Support role at ClickUp, which seemed like the perfect entry point into the tech world compared to another opportunity I was considering. Fast forward two and a half years, and I've experienced significant growth and a wealth of opportunities at ClickUp. It's been a result of hard work, focus, and a commitment to always striving for that extra 1%—a value that perfectly aligns with ClickUp's own core values. ClickUp doesn't just offer competitive compensation, which is impressive by industry standards, but also boasts top-notch benefits. The healthcare coverage alone is worth mentioning, and the additional perks across the board give you a sense that the company genuinely cares about your well-being and happiness. Whether you work remotely or in the office, you'll consistently hear that ClickUp is a fun place to work. As a remote worker, I find myself missing the camaraderie of team interactions and meetings on days I can't attend. You genuinely become immersed in the culture and quickly adopt the mindset of continuous growth and productivity. Lastly, when it comes to management, I've had the privilege of seeing the chain of command in action and getting to know each level of leadership. From fair performance evaluations to inspiring one-on-one conversations with my direct managers and senior managers, it's been a rewarding journey. I've had meaningful discussions with our Director of Support and forged strong bonds with leaders in the Engineering department. I've even had the opportunity to meet several key decision-makers who shape ClickUp's success. Throughout all these encounters, one common thread stands out: they are real people looking to collaborate and invest in each of us, a quality that sets ClickUp apart from any other place I've worked. Pros: - Great place to grow - Internal growth that promotes opportunities - HEALTHY Working Environment - Fast growing company with that close family feel - Transparency - Great Compensation and Benefits

Kontras

Being part of ClickUp's journey through its remarkable growth and what I'd consider smart scaling, I can honestly say that any potential downsides are pretty minor. My belief in this company and the path we've carved out runs deep. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but ClickUp has truly equipped me with the tools needed to excel in my role and has been a driving force behind my career's upward trajectory. It's hard to dwell on the cons when you're so immersed and energized by the abundance of positives all around you.

Pros

Some smart, ambitious people who you can learn a lot from.

Kontras

This place is an unstable, toxic mess, and leadership is largely to blame. The C-suite is full of egos and seems to make goals and quotas up out of thin air, then cleans up the fallout from poor planning and overhiring with layoffs. There have been three company-wide mass layoffs in less than four years, and that doesn’t even include the many layoffs that have happened quietly behind closed doors. The toxicity at the top trickles down through the entire organization. VPs put pressure on middle management, who then pass that pressure on to ICs. The company can’t seem to keep leaders in place for more than six months, which creates constant chaos and confusion. Strategies are always changing, priorities shift every few months, and nothing ever sticks long enough to make a real impact. Promotions seem to be based more on politics, favoritism, and who can make the most noise than on actual performance. The same people get promoted year after year, and many of them seem underqualified for the titles they hold. If you’re good at self-promotion and have the right relationships, you’ll probably do fine. If you’re quietly doing great work, don’t expect the same recognition. HR keeps saying they’re working on improving the promotion process, but I haven’t seen much change. If you’re considering joining the GTM org (especially the operational side) I would think twice. The new leadership loves to talk about transformation, improvements, and exciting changes, but there’s usually very little follow through behind the messaging.
