I started my career here in insurance, and have gotten a lot of good managers along the way. Very fun job, from underwriting to sales.

Fast paced never enough culture Systems are slow and outdated Management has a lot of idiots, who just slow the processes One bad manager and boom your job sucks all of a sudden Pay is not very competitive, livable but not competitive Bonus is disappointing every year, same with the raise I will most likely go elsewhere once I have enough experience, then come back for a promotion. The workforce is heavily weighted toward a high-headcount service model rather than investing in strong engineering talent — you need fewer, better engineers, not more bodies. Central tech functions are attempting to build platforms, but without a clear shared understanding of what a platform actually means, these initiatives remain incomplete. The result is heavy manual workarounds propping up half-finished solutions. Strategic direction shifts frequently, and ongoing layoff announcements make it difficult to plan or build momentum.
