Pros

The senior leadership team for the insurance business are the best in the industry. They understand their client accounts at a very detailed level and design custom insurance/ risk transfer solutions that meet client needs and are profitable for Chubb. High level of customer service particularly in the personal lines business .

Kontras

Non revenue producing areas are viewed as a commodity. Culture in IT is reactive vs. planned. Very little opportunity to employ creative strategic thinking. Decision rights vest with a few very senior managers which reduces agility.

The workforce is heavily weighted toward a high-headcount service model rather than investing in strong engineering talent — you need fewer, better engineers, not more bodies. Central tech functions are attempting to build platforms, but without a clear shared understanding of what a platform actually means, these initiatives remain incomplete. The result is heavy manual workarounds propping up half-finished solutions. Strategic direction shifts frequently, and ongoing layoff announcements make it difficult to plan or build momentum.
