Reaktion von Checkout.com
7yHello,
I’d like to thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can tell from your tone that these issues have caused you some distress and for that I am sorry. We do take your comments seriously and so I would like to take the opportunity to personally respond to you.
To your point on stress and anxiety, I am sorry that you feel like this. In the People Team have worked hard to place wellbeing at the centre of life at Checkout.com. For example, we have two certified mental health first aiders in the office, to provide support. Alongside this, we have also partnered with an employee assistance programme provider, who offer year-round telephone counselling services. As a business, we’re dedicated to creating an environment where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical. I can’t go into details, but we have been able to support several of your colleagues work through difficulties, by offering a range of internal counselling, financial support, Flexi-time arrangements etc. Employee wellbeing is of a top priority. I’m sorry that we haven’t been able to support you in this instance, but should you wish to discuss any of these services please do reach out to a member of the people team for a confidential chat.
On empowerment and management. As a young, fast-growing international business, we have invested lots of time and effort into development programmes to help ensure that managers and employees are able to bring their best selves to work every day. This includes investment in the infrastructure & systems which enables a global workforce to work remotely. The same systems enable us to offer flexible work times with a general rule of thumb of being “available” during your region’s work hours. We are all here to work together and be our best, whether it’s with flexible hours or working from home/remotely.
Lastly, to speak on your thoughts of favouritism. We’ve also worked hard to implement programmes which showcase and reward everyday examples of work aligned to our core values - as seen in our Hero Awards. We also reward dedicated and effective work, with over 25% of people receiving promotion throughout the year. We have a robust reward programme to reward people on merit, which is not only a company goal but also a value deeply rooted in our CEO’s beliefs, who has always put people first. We are dedicated to increasing diversity throughout all aspects of the business. Currently, we have a 66%M, 33%F split in our senior management team. Now, whilst this is above the technology industry average, we have and continue to be committed to achieving a greater level of diversity at all levels of Checkout.com.
If you would like to discuss any of these points in any detail, please feel free to get in touch with me or any of the people team.
Kindest regards,
Louis Jauvin - Head of People
