Pros

Great people. Made lasting friendships here When we deployed our product, everyone felt involved No "facetime" and could work from home

The co-founders did not step down from c-level positions soon enough. New CEO is now there, but may be too late. No engineering team left Bad decision making with money: Name change to Welcome was a huge waste of time and money and not necessary // Sales training and all-company sales "certification" was a bigger waste of money and our product was not ready to be sold this way - the company stopped following this certification a couple months later. Even took engineers away from projects to get "certified".

Talented and driven people who are genuinely nice and a pleasure to work with - ingredients for a great culture without trying are definitely intact. Solid technology with a unique value proposition for both businesses and consumers. Market traction and wide-open path to growth and continuing innovation.

Pros

When I first started at ChatID, it was the best job I'd ever had. Each and every employee was bright, talented, and driven to do great work every day. It was an incredible place to be at, and the energy was amazing. Gradually, things began to change. Pillars of the company began to leave, or were just suddenly gone one day. A large sales team was built up to prepare for the explosive growth that was always just around the corner, and then most of them were soon laid off so that the company could "right size." Big influential companies grew dissatisfied with the product and churned, and were replaced with tiny companies and tinier chat volume. More and more people left or were laid off, and they were never replaced. Big plans were made and then forgotten about.

Kontras

ChatID is a shell of what it once was. Recently about half of the staff was laid off in one big "red wedding" style purge. The excitement and energy that used to be pervasive is now, I'm told, replaced with a mix of weariness and dread. There are no more engineers left at this tech company, unless you count the cofounders. They once employed over 50 people, now it's under 20.
