Single upper level is flat and few people are in aricent since last 10-15 years, you will not get promoted at all. Promotion to manager from technical is only if you are in aricent from last 5-6 years and not on basis of skills or capability of person. Higher management is not interested in development of engineers, they just want them to come, work and go. Few managers are not at all manager materials, they are manager just bcoz they are with aricent from last 5-10 years, no skills at all. aricent has 3 month of notice period, so you are kind of stuck here after sometime and it is very difficult to get new jobs. your notice period will NEVER be reduced, not even for single day even if you are close to manager. everything changes once you resign.
