Pros
Great location on the Las Vegas strip. Hrmm, this is an extremely difficult question to answer. Currently its not a great place to work. I cannot speak for the entire employee base company wide, however I am confident I share the same feelings as the vast majority of Harrah's LV dealers. Some of the best reasons to work for Harrah's are to gain experience in order to hopefully obtain employment at a more upscale casino. You've got a real oppertunity to learn from some of the best dealers in Las Vegas, and currently, you need zero experience to get hired on.
Kontras
Sincerely, I believe Harrah's probably isn't doing anything that any other Mega-Corporation does. However, in the casino enviornment all of the cutbacks, and profit margin squeezing actually hurts the end product. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you view the situation, all of these "changes" are finally beginning to prove poor business decisions. The end result of that hurts everyone's bottom line. The customer base has slowly evolved from an upper middle class clientel; to what we have today. It hurts the dealers by way of a 10 thousand dollar decrease in annual earnings. It's clearly put a huge dent in the companies overall stance in the market as well as profits dipping eerily low. Interestingly enough, Gary Loveman is still making a mint. I suppose that too falls into the mega corp. norm.
