Pros

Only pro would be that the shift patterns can be beneficial (4-5 days on, 4-5 days off is good).

Kontras

No company benefits offered to staff, no pay increases ever discussed. No understanding/concept of health and safety, working time regulations. Expected to work 16 hour shifts if a shift partner has holidays or sickness. Management couldn't find their backside with both hands. Management appear to have been chosen based on their relationships with the higher managers rather than their own leadership abilities. My former line manager wasn't capable of managing staff, making department decisions, and generally ignored all feedback on quality of life in the workplace. The company culture is to ignore all negative/constructive feedback for the job, and continue on as normal until the issues are either forgotten about, or the person providing the feedback gives up asking for something to change. Seems to be a bit of a "boys club" with the management team - they will stop at nothing to cover each others backsides in any situations. The CEO seems more interested in the company Yacht/helicopter shopping than he is in the actual running of his company. They use some really quite poor policies/processes for making staff handovers and customer work i.e. a handover consists of an excel spreadsheet with a large table that provides minimal information for the next team to pick up on. The ticket management software that the company uses is in fact a stock management tool that's been butchered up to turn it into a ticket management tool. This system is extremely old and quite difficult to use (no training provided on how to use it) and this makes finding information for tickets/clients quite hard. Company communication is non existent - nobody speaks to each other, so work rarely goes swimmingly well because staff either havent got access to the information they need, or the information simply isnt there. There is a definite "competition" between the different departments - the department heads appear to spend their time sniping at each other or finding ways to blame other departments for their failures rather than tackling the source of the problems (which is poor management members and poor procedures/policies). General extremely poor treatment of staff. Management would rather find ways to dismiss staff and replace them rather than discuss/find solutions to the problems that the company has. Definitely not a company i would recommend for any form of career advancement because there simply isn't any positions to advance into. They will claim that positions will be created in the future, but this simply isn't the case - the company doesn't have enough money available to create these positions as the business model they use doesn't appear to turn a profit (they can't even afford to put blinds up in the office to block the sun). In my 18 month tenure no new positions were created for advancement, rather they spent money on recruiting staff to replace staff that continued to leave (very high staff turnover).
