Pros
Hours aren't bad. Tips exist and you get some of them. It was fun until it wasn't. Some coworkers are great and will help you out. If you are lucky you can learn different positions. I worked dish and floor support and it was a nice change of pace. It's a cute restaurant and the food is solid when you are given an opportunity to have some of it.
Kontras
Will be punished if you try to advocate for yourself or try and move up, "We're like a family here". Yikes. Will simply cut your hours and not communicate if they feel you are becoming a "problem", meanwhile I was celebrated as the best dishwasher they ever had, folks would literally cheer when I came in the door...a bit of a bizarre experience I have had around 30 jobs and not once have I been treated in such a dismissive and manipulative manner. Strong streak of Portland "nice". There used to be employee meals but now they make you pasta or something random and it's better than nothing but you will be rushing to eat as quickly as you can right at closing time and there may be no protein. Very high workload but that is expected.
