Pros
While it is a startup, the benefits and stability that Backblaze provides makes it feel like a large, established company. Backblaze is 9 years old, and while that makes it a "business" rather than a startup, it's still ran with a scrappy startup mentality, which helps spark innovation and a desire to win. It's a great place to work, the people are wonderful, the amount of learning to be had is extensive, and the benefits aren't half bad either.

As with many companies that are expanding rapidly, there are some growing pains. As Backblaze was bootstrapped, and is still 80% owned by employees, hiring occurs when there's an express need. This leads to some moments in time when workloads are rather extensive until they can be offset by the hiring of the right person for the role. These situations vary from department to department, but the office environment is understanding when these situations occur and management does their best to hire and offload unrealistic workloads.
