Pros

BMC is a solid company with strong colleagues across many teams. Collaboration with international functions such as Sales and Legal was very positive, and several managers across the organization demonstrate professionalism and structured leadership. The broader environment has good potential and offers exposure to interesting and complex work.

Kontras

The main challenge is highly dependent on the specific team and direct manager. In my case, leadership lacked structure, clarity, and the ability to organize work in a consistent and scalable way. Tasks that are inherently straightforward were often made unnecessarily complex due to reactive, case-by-case handling instead of structured processes. Communication at times shifted from professional feedback to personal criticism, limiting open dialogue and reducing trust within the team. There was limited coaching, little willingness to listen, and difficulty in accepting alternative approaches or structured thinking. This created avoidable tension and inefficiencies, particularly during closing periods. The high turnover observed in the team over time reflects these challenges and suggests that the issue is not isolated.

Pros

They hardly ever fire anyone.

Kontras

They hardly ever fire anyone. Comp plan is terrible. You get paid on Opportunities sources but there isn't any criteria written down on what makes a discovery call turn into an opportunity. Leading them to cherry-pick deals and choose if you get paid or not. They don't have product market fit. The entire new logo space didn't close anything last year. Getting placed in a good, high paying seat is all dependent upon nepotism. No clear path for growth. Constantly moving the goal post and changing promotion criteria. The promotion path leads you to a role that has historically not closed a deal and the role is a huge pay cut for some BDR's leading to high churn or career BDR's.
