Pros
Good, meaningful work. Good work-life balance is possible in some roles. Compensation is fair, and in some cases generous. Company stability - overall - is good.

Benefits are pretty terrible, especially health insurance - employee contribution is very high, and no options (literally, just one) that was terrible in my geography, i.e., very few providers accepted my insurance. Difficult to grow personally unless you are in New jersey. I was a 16-year employee, and saw the company become much more brutal in treatment of employees. Pension plan changed twice to be less favorable, even for existing employees. Health benefits were always expensive, but they became drastically more so in recent years, while coverage declined. No hesitation to cut employees or sell businesses when desired - everyone is replaceable (or expendable), and you will see lots of reminders of that every year.
