- Technical ability is not highly regarded at review time, despite how crucial it is to Detica's reputation as a difficult problem solver - A lot of waste at the middle management level, lots of review committees and meetings to suck up chargeable hours that contributes very little to delivery - HR and Ops have too much power and waste a lot of time and money - Ops do an appealing job of aligning people with the right projects and balancing that with what people want out of their careers. They care about one thing and one thing only: utilisation. - Too much focus on bloated processes
