Pros

A handful of nice people left The Edinburgh and Glasgow offices are nice

Lots of unhappy staff and unhappy clients Chaotic with a constant revolving door at the moment Toxic culture, everyone turning on each other and no one at senior management level prepared to take any responsibility incase they are next to be dismissed No one feels safe or trusts anyone, we are constantly being told the new management team really care but we have yet to see any actions that show this A large percentage of experienced people have left or are interviewing to leave Offices used to have a buzz about them, that has completely gone with hardly anyone attending them now. Real shame as they are good working spaces Senior female leaders have all been pushed out, leaving only males at the VP level. That said, when the only standing female exec openly shared that they don’t believe in International Women’s Day, what do you expect? One strong female leader was replaced with the CEO’s incompetent ‘mate’ who guess what was a middle aged white male and refers to the CEO using nicknames. That team has now completely fallen apart. The way people speak to each other in the business now is really poor, there is a lack of respect at every level. This just keeps getting worse and worse Communication between teams is the worst its ever been ‘The board’ is constantly used as a whipping tool…’the board wont be happy if we do it that way’ or ‘the board wont approve’ or ‘the board want to see this’. Just another example of poor leadership from the top

Given your comments re lack of trust and safety we expect that you will not want to discuss matters in person, but we would really encourage you to think about doing that, as we genuinely want to explore the points that you raise and respond to the statements in your post that appear to be misconstrued.

Pros

Previous CEO was inspiring and there is a hope that current CEO will learn from him. Most of the staff still friendly but may not remain friendly in future. Some staff can get paid without any productive work so good place to work for Idle/dossy people. Some leaders (senior manager, VP etc.) working in AutoRek for 15 years; working same tech and do not know the latest tech, so better if you do not want to improve yourself.

Small company but leaders need to do worst politics to survive and if you are lower position then you will be slaughtered. For Example, Some projects were created by Product Development VP to tackle/play politics with consultant team and no output and cost at least 2-3 people's 2 years. Conflict with Consultant and product development team. Working with old tech and no room for development. Product team has not output and they are always busy and consultants face significant difficulty. Some consultant are trained to lie to the customer. I feel I wasted a lot of time working in this company and my life improves a lot after leaving AutoRek.

Pros

Colleagues and managers are welcoming and super supportive, fostering a positive atmosphere. You can work 100% remote if you want. Healthy work-life balance and flexibility, with no micromanagement. Expectations are reasonable, ensuring a manageable workload. Accomplishments are acknowledged and celebrated. There are plenty of opportunities for internal promotion and growth. Regular one-on-one meetings with managers help focus on career growth and personal development. Staff retention is high, with many employees choosing to stay for the long term. Offices are nicely furnished and kept supplied with soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and snacks. There is a weekly complementary lunch available in the Edinburgh office. The company seems stable and resilient. I'm pretty confident that the company will still exist in 10 year's time. Overall, a great place to work if compensation isn't a priority for you.

Kontras

Salaries are on the low end for Scotland and well below average for the Scottish finance sector. Employer pension contributions are low, close to the legal minimum. Average annual raises are low, just slightly above inflation, and even high performers receive disappointingly low raises. Negotiating or leveraging an external offer to secure a raise doesn’t work at AutoRek. Talented individuals who tried this ended up leaving for much higher salaries elsewhere. Last year’s bonus was very low, a fraction of what it was the year before. Frustratingly, this was due to overall company performance factors that were beyond my department’s control.
