The making drinks is fun.

The people they hire suck. They are transphobic ableist and over all unprofessional and extremely unpleasant to work with. The manager creates a very toxic work environment. I don’t make a living wage. I bring home less than 400 a week. They don’t follow work restrictions. They don’t honor requests off for important stuff I.e surgery or doctors appointments but the managers get their vacations. They have like five a summer. When the power went out for almost a week the only employees paid were the managers and the travel mart employees. They run on skeleton crews. I’ve worked the bar by myself on some of the busiest days of the year for up to four hours. The average costumer who comes in is unpleasant. If you are hard of hearing or deaf (or who relies on lip reading) like I am it’s very hard to work register when it’s super loud around you. Plus a majority of them have accents, some don’t even speak English. It’s the turnpike so you are getting a lot of travels so your chance of getting sick is much more than normal.

There are Absolutely no pros to the job

You will be miss treated by upper management who while is expected to be held by the same standards you are willing never actually uphold those standards for themselves while simultaneously being abused by the employees who are your direct reports because this company gives basic employees several protection against disciplinary actions making it very difficult to correct poor behavior and remove underperforming employees. You will be undercompensated for all of your work and be expected to work yourself to death all to line the pockets of the people above you who have absolutely no idea how to truly run a customer service business where the focus is the customers and the people that brake care of them
