Pros

911 experience, 24 hour shifts, work with the fire department, get to run some "okay" calls. Work cct. CCT is good if your trying to go to nursing or currently in school. Get a pay stipen for working CCT. The people that work here are cool and I'd consider some of them lifelong friends but you do get some "characters" since the job doesn't require much to work here.

Kontras

Ambulances are vans, equipment is outdated, a lot of stuff you have to improvise and make things work. The 911 area you work in is horrendous. Hope you like the smell of dog because your transporting homeless 90% of the time. The pay isnt the best. They wont work with your schedule and your only allowed 3 shift giveaways so its hard to make a school schedule unless its completely online. The fire department is always upset if you show up with a van and not a mod.

Pros

There’s a good workforce here with employees who are well united on issues a strong sense that the company is actually pushing toward a positive future in terms of operations. Ambulance fleet seems to be getting good upgrades and call volume (in most areas) is manageable. There is also a good amount of OT available with bonuses/incentives available. Matching 401k is nice and health benefits are very reasonable.

Kontras

For being such a large operation, the pay rate seems to be lacking as of right now. Most employees with adult responsibilities are having to rely heavily on overtime/incentives just to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle outside of work. Uniforms definitely need improvements and training for new EMTs seems a bit lackluster. The morale can be low at times also due to the company being write-up happy (for lack of a better term). Lack of 24 hour units and proper posting locations makes for a somewhat harsh work day as well.
