Pros

Great experience if you are looking to do something to further yourself in medical field or EMS. Lot's of calls with the Fire Department or interfacility transports depending on the unit you are on. You will definetely get a lot of patient contact and interaction with multiple people in the medical field ie; nurses, doctors, Fire, Police.

Kontras

Downsides are no lunches, off late 75% of the time. They would rather get one more call out of you then respect your off duty status or your home time with family. Completely focused on profit rather that patient care. The Operations Manager is a joke, no people skills, no management skills WHATSOEVER. The General Manager has an "open door policy" all to tell you what you want to hear with no results later..... Multiple safety problems as in no portable radios or cell phones in the rigs to take on calls! They sign contracts left and right but are unable to fill their obligations leaving patients to miss appointments and wait hours for transport. Horrible for patient care. No stations so you are in the ambulance all day, it is your rolling office.

Pros

There’s a good workforce here with employees who are well united on issues a strong sense that the company is actually pushing toward a positive future in terms of operations. Ambulance fleet seems to be getting good upgrades and call volume (in most areas) is manageable. There is also a good amount of OT available with bonuses/incentives available. Matching 401k is nice and health benefits are very reasonable.

Kontras

For being such a large operation, the pay rate seems to be lacking as of right now. Most employees with adult responsibilities are having to rely heavily on overtime/incentives just to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle outside of work. Uniforms definitely need improvements and training for new EMTs seems a bit lackluster. The morale can be low at times also due to the company being write-up happy (for lack of a better term). Lack of 24 hour units and proper posting locations makes for a somewhat harsh work day as well.
