Pros

Lower people have always seemed great. Always hard working, always willing to teach the newer EMT's and medics. Patient care is held to a very high standard. It's an okay place to start out if you're still living with your parents and don't have to pay rent but don't look at it as long term, especially if you plan to go to Paramedic School down the road. You won't be able to afford it.

Kontras

Barely livable wages for the number of hours worked. I had to go on food stamps for awhile. Almost ended up homeless. I was able to skate by doing A LOT of overtime hours. Most of the EMT's in my ops are in the same boat. It's kind of a running joke with us. Medics aren't much better off. Work 50+ hours a week with no lunch breaks, barely able to live on the salary. My advice: search other ambulance services. Most pay their EMT's around $15/hr. You can live off that reasonably and still make your way to paramedic school or pursue a bachelors in nursing down the road.

Pros

There’s a good workforce here with employees who are well united on issues a strong sense that the company is actually pushing toward a positive future in terms of operations. Ambulance fleet seems to be getting good upgrades and call volume (in most areas) is manageable. There is also a good amount of OT available with bonuses/incentives available. Matching 401k is nice and health benefits are very reasonable.

Kontras

For being such a large operation, the pay rate seems to be lacking as of right now. Most employees with adult responsibilities are having to rely heavily on overtime/incentives just to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle outside of work. Uniforms definitely need improvements and training for new EMTs seems a bit lackluster. The morale can be low at times also due to the company being write-up happy (for lack of a better term). Lack of 24 hour units and proper posting locations makes for a somewhat harsh work day as well.
