Kontras
This is a pure hunter role, and I was fully aware of that aspect. What was not expected was the after hours, and weekend work that is expected. Receiving calls from management before 7 am both Saturday and Sundays, and then all into the day. You do have an extensive training period that can be up to 2 months. What my experience is after the training the expectation was to be that of an 18 year vet. The other frustrating aspect is the ramp up time is only 3 months, 2 of which are entirely spent outside your territory. Prospects: the prospect list is over 5000 business's. Pros: The company provides a comprehensive training program that lasts up to two months, which is a significant period for onboarding. Additionally, you are given a large territory to manage, with a prospect list that exceeds 5,000 businesses.
Cons: While the sales-focused nature of the role is expected, the work-life balance is poor due to constant after-hours and weekend demands. Management frequently calls before 7:00 AM on both Saturdays and Sundays, and expectations remain high throughout the week. Furthermore, the three-month ramp-up period is unrealistic, as two months are spent away from your designated territory, yet employees are expected to perform at the level of an 18-year veteran immediately following training.
Prospects, you are handed a book with over 5000 leads in potential business. That seems ripe for the picking when told ALLDATA's market share is only 15% of that number. The kicker is when you drill down you find a large percent of the prospects are not qualified, or out of business. The hidden data reveals the leads are residential instead on B2B.
If hunting is your game, and you enjoy a fast paced, high pressure sales role, I would recommend. The product offering is strong.
