Thank you for the feedback and summary of your experience as a candidate to join our engineering team. Writing brief sections of code is just one part of the typical interview process for development opportunities at Comeet. Coding ability carries weight, as do other elements such as in-person conversations. The decision to add someone to our team is based on the sum of all—a holistic evaluation of work experience, skills, references, interactions with hiring team and code samples. We don’t solely look for problem solvers, nor do we necessarily value one area above and beyond everything else; we’re looking for the total package that a candidate will contribute. I can only assume that your interviewer chose to focus during your conversation on elements of your candidacy beyond your code sample. In terms of “wasting an entire day” on writing a python program, our coding tasks are designed to take a few hours, no more. They are also evaluated on the assumption that they are the product of a few hours of work. Thank you for investing time and effort to explore this job opportunity with Comeet. We wish you the best in your employment search, and would welcome another application from you should a future opening at Comeet align with your skills and experience
