I interviewed for a TC after a vacation scheme in Cheltenham summer 2018. I had a lovely time during the vac scheme so applied for a TC with them as well. The interview was in summer 2019. The interviewers were both fascinated by my heritage (I’m black African born and raised in a different European country). They asked where I was from and when the European country did not satisfy them, I told them my parents are from so and so countries in Africa. They then immediately asked what connections I would bring from Africa to the company. I was very confused because at that point I had never been to Africa. I felt super uncomfortable and just looked at them like a question mark and said “nothing?”. They sensed that I was offended and the interview pretty much ended right after that, I think it was only like the third question in so I was surprised they decided to end it. Obviously didn’t get a TC but till this day is the weirdest interview I’ve ever had and I’m glad I didn’t discover this company culture until halfway through the tc.

3 interviewers. Very typical interview questions whilst also getting to know me as a person. A few commercial based questions which were a bit trickier but overall a very good experience and very friendly interviewers which put me at ease.
