Pros

Health Insurance stands out though keeps increasing in price year after year with different requirements to get the 'dicounted' rate - docor visits are cheap if you frequent them and if you're from the area, it's either Digikey or Articcat with a current starting wage for warehouse workers of 18.50

Kontras

There a LOT of middle management, which causes a lot of changes seemingly at random and nearly complete projects scrapped to start over without much explanation. A lot of buzz words from upper management, words like "family, culture, one digikey, we're all in it together" while citing feedback clearly coming from the very large pool of middle management with words like "chance encounters" (aka, you get interrupted from a project deadline so someone can talk about their hunting or fishing trip), team building (aka meetings that lack any real substance or value on a weekly basis), "face to face interactions" (While everyone is still stuck at their desk on their webcams, unless there's a stand up meeting of course), the return to office seemed more an excercise of giving the large amount of middle management the ability to go back to being able to micromanage, instead of learning new management strategies in a rapidly changing environment they did all they could to reverse, including some employees that were specifically hired as remote required to come in from some distance because everywhere is an hour and a half away. During covid warehouse workers went from $16 to $18.50 because "they had to be there" but those that supported them did not get the same benefits in any regard unless fought tooth and nail for on occasion. Access to management above yours, or maybe theirs if you want to go 2 of 8 layers up, is available but always seems to be detrimental. So I see the largest issue being that, there's walls of middle management between the people making the decisions who have played a game of telephone for their info when decisions are made, as nothing has proved to me they have any idea what, let's say as a director or VP, the 16 managers and supervisors below them are hearing from staff. Lack of communication is rampant, nepotism, favortism, double standards, low raises if you weren't a warehouse worker even though you had to be there too, (I'm making 17% less than when I started, adjusting only for 2 years of inflation). THey did away with performance raises and cost of living raises and budled them into one lower raise under the guise of #onedigikey and helping the company while harping record shipments, but that 2.5 million squarefoot facility wasn't going to pay for itself, it's on the backs of the workers and the many, many, many consultants brought in to make it work like it was supposed to 3 years ago. I get roughly 4.8 hours of PTO every 2 weeks, that includes sick time, they are the same, as a single father if something happens and i Have to take a few days off to care for my child, it takes 4 months to zero that out. They like to hang over your head that they are doing you a favor because they're the largest employer within an hours drive and how lucky you are to work for them, but you will never - ever - be told how glad they are to have you. You're one of 5300 employees, one of 65% of a county that works at the same place, but as other places wages are increasing there is a tremendous amount of turnover that even a temp staffing agency had trouble filling. My base pay has gone up a dollar (about 5%) in 6 years and putting up with the "digikey culture" and how lucky you are to work there, has largely become meaningless as other companies evolves, allowed permanent remote work, with solutions that are vetted and work, makes digikey as an employee either an only option due to the area, with inflated rent ($900 for a studio in a town with less than 9k people with zero to offer other that being close to digikey) or the plethora of people taking a minor pay cut and don't have to deal with the bureaucracy and being reminded constantly how much it costs them to employee your lucky butt and the opportunity they've given you, they're willing to ake a dollar or two less an hour.

Pros

Great team and awesome supervisor, flexible hours. The people I work with day to day are the best

Kontras

The company seems to be cutting costs at employees' expense. Poor pay, minimal pay increases as cost of living continues to rise, poor leadership, no opportunities to grow and benefits have significantly decreased over the last couple years making it less appealing to stay long term.
