Vorstellungsgespräch
I applied to Uber through their career portal. 2 weeks later, I received an email and recruiter scheduled screening call. It was a dead boring talk as if he was not interested in doing what he was doing. My first technical interview was scheduled weeks later.
Few days before the interview, I received an email from another recruiter informing that the recruiter which scheduled my interview will be out of office and hence as me to suggest reschedule date. The interview was rescheduled.
On the interview date, I waited in the zoom meeting but no interviewer joined. I notified recruiter via email and received no response that day. The next day I received a response with apology and asking to reschedule. The interview was rescheduled next week.
After the 1 hr technical interview, I waited for more than a week to get an answer. I received no email. I emailed recruiter asking about the decision to which he replied that they will be moving forward with my application and asked me to wait while he connects me to another recruiter. Again, I waited for 2 weeks before I was connected to the interview. The onsite loop was scheduled.
There were 4 rounds in on-site loop. The first one was behavioral, wherein the I met hiring manager and a shadow(staff engineer). He was nice and kind.
The second one was in-depth technical(React), wherein a staff engineer interviewed me. It was an average interview experience. The third interview was DS & Algo, which was pretty boring, as the interviewer was not at all interested and was so negative that if I suggest anything, he would get offended thinking I am trying to prove him wrong. The fourth interview was on system design and it was pretty good.
I waited another week to get an answer, even though recruiter had emailed me to get back in a day or two with the decision.
Week later, I got a call that they are not moving forward with my application. I accepted the decision, but was constantly begging her to share the feedback. She did not share anything and tried to fool me with stories on why she doesn't have specific feedbacks to share.
Dear Uber,
An avergae candidate spends atleast a week preparing for your so called "values" to clear behavioral question and hours on interview process. And don't have even an hour to gather and share feedback with the candidate? Sometimes, it just appears like companies are using these "principles" and "values" to sugar-coat their real cruel intensions.
