Vorstellungsgespräch
I interviewed with PwC in Germany. A friend of mine working at the firm had a very positive experience with the application process and recommended me to try as well. As it turns out, however, the fast and well-organised experience he described was not implemented in the public sector consulting track. Instead, the process was what a consultant might call flexible - by which I mean messy and chaotic. The first round was a 'getting-to-know-each-other' interview that included a 'brain teaser' - in my case the question of the exact angle between the hour and the minute hand of a clock at 15:15 o'clock as well as the habitual self-presentation and some information about the firm. The second round started off on a similar note and included an airport-themed case study on border security management. The third interview followed the playbook of the second interview with a case study on procurement. In both cases the maths side was quite light. At this stage, I was supposed to have a partner interview. This was announced to me as an opportunity to discuss my future at the firm paired with perhaps some knowledge questions. Instead, it was another full-blown case interview. This was not at all what I was led to expect, the interview went rather poorly, and I was rejected by phone later the same day. During that call it turned out that my interviewer was unaware that I had previously had a third interview - she had made the decision to reject my application without consulting the last of her colleagues to interview me. This would have been fine, but when I complained by mail, I got another call by interviewer #2 the next day pretending to me that they had "all discussed together". The fact that they went out of their way to present me with this transparent, bold-faced, and completely unnecessary lie is the reason why I would not recommend PwC to anyone myself.VorstellungsgesprächIf you could chose what would be your ideal first project (in interview #3)
