    Pros

    True Big Data company, managing enormous amount o data and technical complexity. This brings huge opportunities.

    It isn't a big team and we are all in the same office, which is great to get to know (at least on the surface) everything that is going on and everyone working on it.

    Very nice culture traits such as an attitude of camaraderie and helpfulness, the openness to new ideas and projects, the ambition or the willing to pivot and change to try new things.

    Kontras

    Difficult to navigate at first, as the organization is more centered on people than on structure. So you need time to understand who is who and how things are done/maintained.

    Good ambience and great location. There are some great professionals. Because of the size of the company, you could have a real impact on the market.

    Kontras

    Lately the work policy has changed in order to move from a startup to a regular company. Depending on your profile could be hard to pivot to different areas.

    Pros

    Dynamic work environment.
    Very technical and data oriented.
    There are very good professionals in tech from whom you can learn a lot from.
    Good perks and benefits and nice office space.

    Kontras

    Bad upper management, unexperienced and lacking empathy.
    The company culture has fallen down. It passed from being a fun company, having flexible hours and trust on the employees, to all the opposite.
    There is no career projection and no place for women management. Most women managers have been slowly downgraded or fired as well as many other valid people.
    The people ops (=HR) team is more on the management side instead of defending the employees rights and interests.

    You are drowning the company down and many people leave because of the bad management.
    Be more empathic and trust your people. You should surround yourself with different profiles and management styles, instead of looking for and rewarding those that are and think exactly like you.
    Stop punishing others for your own mistakes and failures.

    Pros

    Plenty of talented people, great attitude and generally you develop great friendship with your peers. Work life balance is also pretty good. Offices are nice, perks are good.

    Kontras

    Where do I even start? After being bought by the Japanese Lifull group, Mauricio was appointed as CEO. He has managed to take a thriving culture where people were excited to come to work every day and turn it to the biggest cultural disaster I've ever seen.

    He only holds his position because he's set up a team of puppets on the top management level to whom he pays a huge salary and they move his lousy company vision which is basically to do nothing at all and just maintain the business at a constant level with no innovation and progression at all.

    So many opportunities have gone by for Trovit but the lack of drive and the CEOs ambition to just earn an astronomical salary while not doing anything at all to drive the business forward has set the company up for failure and disappearing within the next couple of years. Mark my words. Seeing a once thriving company get so sidetracked is a tragedy.

    So far I have been working for a year at this company. (I am still working here)

    Trovit has a particular culture. I think every person fits in different cultures, so I will try to describe with facts ( as much neutral as I can) how working at Trovit is. (It will be a bit slanted as I am really happy at this company. But I will try to do my best.) I hope this helps you to define if it fits with you or not.

    - Great Place to Work 2017-
    I think this is the fifth year the company wins this prize.

    - Goal Oriented-
    The company is focused on solving user/business problems.

     1) Based on research, the learnings and the ideas each team has a set of key problems are selected. (Note: If you have and idea, go and discuss it with your leader)

    2) The selected problems are explained to the whole company. (The presentation is focused on presenting the challenges)

    3) During 3 days all the people and the leaders of each problem meet informally to discuss more details about the challenges.

    4) People informs which projects they think they can add more value. (They will listen to you)

    5) Based on the needs of each project and each employee's preferences the company tries to do the best possible match. Final teams are defined.

    6) Each team discuss the project deeply and defines their own OKRs ( Objectives and Key results) Keep in mind that Objectives are aggressive.

    7) The team starts working together and sets weekly goals ( They are able to chose whatever methodology they want. Scrum, Kanban, etc)

    8) OKRs are review monthly

    9) After 3 month the process starts again and you are able to choose a new challenge.

    - Start up Mindset-
    The company is open to try everything that is linked to the company goals and vision. If you want to propose and idea make sure you can explain which is the associated business impact or how it will contribute to the company goals. (Challenge yourself, think if you would need to invest money from your pocket will you do it in that project?)

    - Transparency-

    There are 2 key meetings at company level.

    “The Global meeting”: Where the overall status of the company and main highlights are shared. You can later sit down withe the CEO to discuss details of the numbers and how things are going.

    The “All hands meeting”: Teams presents their main learnings and achievements with the rest of the company every Friday. They have recently started with this.

    The company is very informal. Everyone is accesible (including the CEO). If you want to talk to someone, feel free to take a coffee with that person and go and talk.

    - People First-

    They try to listen all the time. You will see different surveys asking employees opinion from different topics.

    - Career Growth-

    I think the important part here is that there is no define step by guideline on how to keep growing (as more formal companies use to have). Here you are owner and the main responsible of your own growth. The company will help and assist you on this process. But you are the main responsible. You have a 1000 budget for training.

    Every employee defines his personal goals for the next 6 month. Leader helps each employee to reach their helps. But it truly depends on each person how far and fast they want to grow,

    - General benefits-

    The company is 100% goal oriented. So time is flexible. But make sure you are committed to you goals.

    The whole company goes to practice sky during 4 days. (Payed by the company). They also used to go to amusement park on summer.

    -Final Recommendation-
    This is more personal, but maybe helps you to make a choice.

    Is not for every person. It has an amazing culture with a strong start up mindset. In this company you are responsible for the success and failures. You need to be ready to assume your own failures, learn and move forward.

    Just get your stuff together! Seriously, just sit down and seriously reflect on what you are transforming into what used to be a truly great place to work.
    Free beer and flashy stuff won't make up for what truly makes a job great. Challenges, promotions career plan, true camaraderie, feeling your opinion matters, be able to push projects from the bottom up... that is priceless.

    Pros

    People are nice, the only thing that keeps me here.
    Office space and perks are ok.
    Used to be happy of working here. But overall, I can't find a reason to work here anymore.

    Kontras

    The company had an amazing atmosphere, goals and culture, but all that's gone. Since the new management took over after the founders left, what once was a great place to work, now is a mess. It reminds me more of a child's playground than anything else.
    All the changes that the new management introduced, destroyed what took many years to build by many people. And the results are there: people getting fired for no reason (or you can say ego-driven decisions), talent leaving the company with a scary high rate, and the overall company results plunging.

    Respect people, don't treat them like waste. Stop the make-believing techniques and communicate your decisions directly. Tell the truth.
    Hire talent that's better than you. Not just people to rise an army of followers so the management wins any dispute just by the numbers.
